Food Day! October 24th
Join us for this National Food Day event to celebrate the completion of Farm to Freezer’s first season—5,000 lbs. of organic vegetables donated; 1,400 lbs. blanched and frozen vegetables incorporated into Bethesda Cares’ meals program; and 2,500 homeless served.
Learn about how Farm to Freezer addresses local and sustainable agriculture, hunger alleviation and nutrition, community activism, and food waste. Meet the diverse people, organizations, and businesses that have made this possible. Enjoy the season’s bounty with local fare generously donated by local farmers and prepared by My Thyme Catering. Fresh local food comes full circle—from farm, to freezer, to market, back to compost—benefiting our whole community along the way.
