Farm to Freezer seeks a part-time, temporary kitchen manager to to manage all aspects of our frozen food production including: safe food preparation and safe kitchen practices,
instructing and supervising staff and volunteers who help with food preparation, implement inventory control of products, supplies and kitchen equipment, insure proper food handling, lead and work well with different populations including vulnerable populations. Must have passed ServSafe training and have Montgomery County Food Service Manager’s license. Requirements, hours and location listed below.
Salary $12-14/hr. depending on experience
Farm to Freezer seeks two part-time temporary culinary assistants to sort produce at Farmer’s Markets and assist with food preparation in the kitchen. Culinary assistants will report to Farm to Freezer’s kitchen manager and assist with food collection at farmer’s markets (sorting, weighing, loading and unloading from truck) and with kitchen prep of this food including washing, chopping, cooking, packaging, recording, inventory and cleanup. Where: Farm markets in Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Olney. Kitchen is located in Silver Spring, .75 mile from the Silver Spring metro.
When: Sat, Sun, Mon afternoon/evening and Tues. morning between July 1-Oct. 30; up to 18 hours per week.
Required: Must be at least 18 years old; U.S. citizen or have legal status to work in the U.S; able to lift and carry 30 lbs. and stand for 6 hours; use kitchen equipment safely; speak, write, and understand English, work well with others including people from vulnerable populations and teens. Must have reliable transportation to travel to farm markets and kitchen on time. Must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays afternoon into evening and on Tuesday mornings.
